This choker is finished in an oxidized antique tone rather than bright gold, set with rubies and edged with a fringe of pearls along the base. Oxidizing darkens the recessed areas of the metalwork deliberately, a finish that's chosen specifically to make hand-set rubies stand out more sharply against the surrounding gold. The pearl fringe hangs loose enough to move with the wearer rather than sitting rigid.
